About the Text to Speech Reader
This reader uses the speech engine already built into your operating system, so it starts talking the moment you press play — no upload, no waiting for a server to render an audio file. It is useful for proofreading your own writing, getting through long articles while doing something else, and helping readers who find large blocks of text tiring.
How to use the Text to Speech Reader
- Paste or type the text you want read aloud.
- Pick a voice from the list your device provides — the choice depends on your operating system and installed languages.
- Adjust the speed and pitch sliders until the delivery sounds comfortable.
- Press Play, and use Pause, Resume or Stop while it reads.

Frequently asked questions
Can I download the audio as an MP3?
Not from this tool. Browser speech synthesis plays directly through your speakers and does not expose a downloadable file. For a saved recording you would need a server-side TTS service.
Why do I only see one or two voices?
The list comes from your device. Windows and macOS let you install extra language voices in system settings, and they appear here after a page reload.
Does it work for Urdu, Hindi or Arabic?
Yes, provided your device has a voice installed for that language. If no matching voice exists, the default voice will mispronounce the text.
